G98 Dynamite Embrace the Holiday Spirit

The Saddleback United Girls U11 Dynamite soccer team decided to help others this year by spending Saturday, December 19th collecting food donations outside of a Albertson’s grocery store in Mission Viejo for South County Outreach’s Food Bank. The girls collected 918 pounds of food, thanks to the generosity of shoppers. The food will be distributed by the Food Bank and will be on the tables of those in need by New Years.

The girls were all smiles and said that the experience made them grateful for what they have, and that it felt so great to help others!  According to Linda Kemnitz, team manager, “the girls had a great time and it was good for them to see how their actions can benefit others.”   South County Outreach is hoping to reach it's goal of 1 million pounds of food collected and distributed this next year.

The players participating in the program are Kate Crompton, Abigail Eldridge, Paige Iwamoto, Kaylee Karsh, McKenna Kemnitz, Helena Laskey, Katie Martin, Mollie Streit, Christiana Tarazi, Hallie Tyrell-Smith, Olivia Welch, and Sydney White.  They were helped by coach Tony Everett and several parents.
